Why was there an increasing in consumer spending of 3% on Black Friday 2008 compared to Black Friday 2007? Maybe because there are fewer shopping days. If you count the days between Black Friday '08 and Christmas, you come up with 27 days compared to 32 in 2007. That's 5 whole days of shopping missing from the 2008 season.
