Shorter Shopping Season

admin - Sunday, 30 November 2008 04:09

Why was there an increasing in consumer spending of 3% on Black Friday 2008 compared to Black Friday 2007? Maybe because there are fewer shopping days. If you count the days between Black Friday '08 and Christmas, you come up with 27 days compared to 32 in 2007. That's 5 whole days of shopping missing from the 2008 season. Keep your procastinating in check....

Why is GameStop hording all the Wii Fits…because they can.

admin - Thursday, 27 November 2008 09:16

Here's a story about a shopper trying to buy a Wii Fit at Gamestop, only to be told that they are saving them all for the elusive "Black Friday" (biggest shopping day of the year).

David Cavanaugh of Middletown has a bone to pick with GameStop, which originally told him Wednesday they had the Wii Fit in stock at its Meriden store, but when he got there he was not permitted to buy the sought after item.

By reading the blog posting, they make it sound "Illegal" for GameStop to require their store to hold their Wii Fits until a certain date. I don't believe this is illegal because games, music, books are often held for release on certain dates with inventories adjusted for in-store promotions.
