EA SPORTS Active features a wide variety of interactive activities combined into a circuit that target both the upper and lower body as well as cardio, and supports two players to allow family or friends to get fit together. EA SPORTS Active provides a new level of motivation with on-screen, real-time feedback on your workout such as calories burned, while also allowing you to adjust intensity levels. EA SPORTS Active ships with two specially-designed leg straps that hold the Wii's Nunchuk controller to track lower body movements, as well as a resistance band to support a number of upper body strength training exercises.

Each circuit will feel different and increase in intensity as fitness levels improve to help you work up a sweat and work toward your fitness goals. Users can also create their own custom workouts that vary in activity, duration and intensity, and the Wii Balance Board will add functionality to many exercises.

The Wii game console was the most searched-for product on eBay, followed by the Wii Fit companion product. Consumers snatched up 3,171 Wiis over eBay, at an average selling price of $349, followed by the Wii Fit, with 1,059 sold at an average selling price of $140.

David Cavanaugh of Middletown has a bone to pick with GameStop, which originally told him Wednesday they had the Wii Fit in stock at its Meriden store, but when he got there he was not permitted to buy the sought after item.

By reading the blog posting, they make it sound "Illegal" for GameStop to require their store to hold their Wii Fits until a certain date. I don't believe this is illegal because games, music, books are often held for release on certain dates with inventories adjusted for in-store promotions.

But I can feel for the guy. I was at my local GameStop during a UPS delivery where I watched them unpack 6 Wii Fits right in front of me. Waiting in line with only one person in front of me, I thought I'd won the Wii Fit lottery until my turn came and I heard the unpleasant information that those Wii Fits we "already" taken. WHAT? I thought you couldn't hold them?

"I'm sorry sir, those are for pre-order customers who paid over 3 months ago."

"Can I pre-order one then?", I asked.

"I'm sorry sir, GameStop is no longer accepting pre-orders for the Wii Fit."

"Well then, what is the best way to score a wii?", i asked with desperation on my face.

"Call the store about a half hour before we open and ask if we got any Wii Fit shipments but be prepared to race down here. We usually only get a few Wii Fits at a time and there are many people calling our store every morning. If you keep trying, you should eventually get lucky. That's all I can tell you."

....One week later, I bought mine on ebay
